How to collect sputum culture test sample

To collect a sputum culture test specimen , follow the following collection methods:

Rinse the oral cavity, in the morning, on an empty stomach, by gargling.
Collect sputum after a cough in a sterile wide-mouth container with a screw cap.
The sample should not salivate.
If the patient has difficulty in expectorating, an aerosol of warm water can be used, inhaling slowly and deeply about 10 times.
In the case of collection on three samples, the samples must be brought individually to the Laboratory.
