CYBER-ATTACK AGAINST SYNLAB ITALIA<\/span><\/h3>\n

We would like to inform you that there is a contract in place between Synlab Italia Srl and Alfa Medical Analysis Laboratory under which the former has access to personal data of patients of Alfa Medical Analysis Laboratory for some specialized exams<\/u> sent in service. <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

On the afternoon of June 17, 2024, Synlab Italia Srl informed us that the cyber-attack suffered during April 2024 involved the personal data of some patients of the Alfa Medical Analysis Laboratory.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

As is well known, the cyber-attack, consisted of the publication of data into the Dark web so its privacy was breached.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Particurarly, Synlab Italia Srl ascertained that the cybercriminal organization extracted and published some exam results with master informations and special data about the health status of patients contained in the SYNLABNET application (used within the service contract for sending and receiving examinations and results).<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Upon receipt of the communication from Synlab Italia Srl, the Alfa Medical Analysis Laboratory was <\/em>immediately activated<\/em><\/strong> to analyze and identify the stolen data.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

At the moment Synlab Italia Srl is not able to provide us with the details of the persons concerned and we are waiting to know names. It will be our care, as soon as we are in possession of the list of patients to make contact with each of you. <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

In any case, the Alfa Medical Analysis Laboratory made a preliminary notification to the Data Protection Authority on June 19, 2024.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Potential consequences of the violation could be, for example: misuse of master data and data disclosing health status, unwanted contacts.
\nWe therefore advise you to:
\n– do not respond to suspicious requests or messages<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

– do not follow up\/verify any links indicated in communications unless you are absolutely certain that it comes from a reliable source.
\nThe Alfa Medical Analysis Laboratory is implementing all actions deemed appropriate at this stage within the relationship with the supplier to protect the personal data of the data subjects (Audit, Verification of security measures) also with the support of the Data Protection Officer(dpo.analisialfa@dpoprofessionalservice.it)<\/a>.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
